Module 1: Culture, Iceberg Reflection

For this exercise I chose to identify myself as a white, Republican woman. I chose these three identities because for one, it is physically known that I am a white woman. I clearly identify this way no matter what I say. I chose Republican because I have several strong beliefs that line up with the Republican party that I feel are an important part of my life.
I think these identities will be acceptable in Australia, and most other countries for that matter. It may be a stereotypical way to identify me, but I don't see any future conflict because of it. I think the fact that I am Republican may affect the way I feel about the values of others, and the fact that I am white may affect the feelings of others toward me. Some countries will discriminate me for any of these three identities but as I said, I don't see it being much conflict in Australia.
